07/08/15: Collection of Shah Rukh Khan: Humko Humise Chura Lo

Wikipedia: "Shah Rukh Khan (born Shahrukh Khan, 2 November 1965), also known as SRK, is an Indian film actor, producer and television personality. Referred to in the media as 'Baadshah of Bollywood', 'King of Bollywood' or 'King Khan', he has appeared in more than 80 Bollywood films. He is one of the richest actors in the world, with an estimated net worth of US$400–600 million, and his work in Bollywood has earned him numerous accolades, including 14 Filmfare Awards." This "super digital" CD was teetering at the edge of the drain on Delancey Street, Camden, NW1.

28/04/15: Cosmic Conflict: The Origin of Evil

Found in the road in Camden High Street. As a concept, Cosmic Conflict sounds pretty bad to me, although Star Wars was entertaining enough. Oddly enough, this was the second disc in a row with a Spanish connection (see the language options listed on the DVD). According to the Internet Movie Database, this is: 'A powerful, eye-opening documentary that focuses on the great controversy that began when Lucifer rebelled in heaven. It traces the transformation of a perfect angel into Satan, the creation of a beautiful new world, and the fall of man in Eden.' It also says: 'This film is an essential Christian resource that will help you pull down the spiritual veil and see everything at stake in the war between good and evil. You will witness a vital part of the history of the cosmos that will help you make sense of world around you at last.'

05/02/15: No Silence by ATB

Mornington Street, Camden, NW1. According to Wikipedia: "No Silence is the fifth studio album released by German DJ and producer, ATB. It was released in 2004 and includes hits such as 'Marrakech', 'Ecstasy' and 'Here with Me' (all featuring vocals by Tiff Lacey) . . . Unlike his other album releases, ATB used a cross fade effect on each song as a transition to the next song on the album with dream-like sequences and sounds of nature." ATB is an abbreviation of André Tanneberger. Unlikely to play.

03/02/15: Workzone: cutting disc for thin metal

“Only for cutting! Not for grinding!” says the text. Thought this was a CD. In fact, it's a disc for cutting metal. A controversial inclusion, perhaps, but in the darkness of Harrington Street, Camden, NW1, I was convinced that this was a discarded album. "Workzone" even sounds like a pop group – a failed boy band perhaps?

14/01/15: Lamb in Camden

On Hampstead Road, Camden, I spied a little lost Lamb on the pavement. It is Lamb’s self-titled 1996 debut album. In their review of this release, Rolling Stone magazine pronounced that “electronica is a worthy heir to more time-tested musical genres – and not just a fluke of computer literacy”. An important part of the CD is missing. Unlikely to play.

05/01/15: Dabira (Do Wonder), Stanhope Street, Camden

What better way to see in the New Year than with an abandoned CD? Dabira (Do Wonder) is an album of Nigerian gospel music by Bunmi Akinnaanu a.k.a. Omije Ojumi. This is yet another disc from Stanhope Street, by far the most bountiful source of abandoned CDs. Unlikely to play.

15/12/14: Camden Communion

Found in Camden at night, hence the especially poor photography. This is the first boxed CD find. Communion, it turns out, is the fifth album by Swedish group The Soundtrack Of Our Lives. Keeping the box sealed is a British Heart Foundation sticker, which reads "Listen to me, then bring me back again". The album artwork seems designed to resemble an insurance advert or perhaps a brochure for luxury retirement homes.

27/11/14: Maxell CD-R, Stanhope Street, Camden

Yet more evening treasure from Stanhope Street. This unlabelled Maxell CD-R was being slowly covered by mud and leaves.

25/11/14: CD 3 Bangla, Stanhope Street, Camden

This Staples CD-R was found on Stanhope Street in Camden in almost the same spot as True Brits and also "Kigdavid If I Die Young". Poor evening light. Although damp from close contact with fallen leaves, it was in surprisingly good condition.

17/11/14: True Brits, Stanhope Street, Camden

Second find of the day. This CD was produced in 2004 by the News of the World newspaper, and found in the gutter just metres from where I found "Kigdavid If I Die Young". The completely random, somewhat horrifying tracklisting runs as follows:

2. Duran Duran – "New Moon on Monday"
3. Feeder – "Just The Way I'm Feeling"
4. Paul Weller – "Wild Wood"
5. Moloko – "The Time is Now"
6. Toploader – "Dancing in the Moonlight"

8. Babybird – "You're Gorgeous"
9. Spandau Ballet – "Through the Barricades"
10. The Farm – "All Together Now".
Next to the disc was a plastic CD storage box, empty. Taken at night, this is not the best-quality image.

02/10/14: "Kigdavid If I Die Young", Stanhope Street, Camden

Unmarked Polaroid CD-R found on the kerbside. The insert paper (inside a plastic wallet) says "Kigdavid If I Die Young" and shows a YouTube page that presumably contains the relevant video. According to YouTube, as of today, "Kigdavid If I Die Young" has been viewed 511 times and received 16 thumbs-ups. I haven't done this previously, but for some reason I decided to keep this CD. If you're out there, Kigdavid, and you would like it back, get in touch...

15/09/14: Lady fragment, Camden kerb

Who is the mysterious lady with the red flower in her hair? If I knew this, I might be able to work out what the disc is/was.

01/04/14: White disc with blue/green-ish label, Stanhope Street, Camden

As the sticker ink blurs in the moisture of a Camden flat's garden, any indication of what was contained on this otherwise unlabelled CD is lost forever.

28/01/14: "HP & Phil Stone", Camden High Street

A grim pile of Camden rubbish included a crisp packet and what appears to be "talking book" versions of J.K. Rowling's popular children's adventure stories burned to four Maxell discs.
