23/04/20: Verbatim shard
Totteridge. Looks like a Verbatim disc that's been heavily scribbled over. This lonely little shard seemed to be all too successful at exercising social-distancing measures.

01/09/18: Hip-Hop
A TDK CD-R spotted beneath a bench in the Boots and Waitrose car park, Whetstone. Would quite liked to have heard this one, but some of the disc is missing.

31/10/16: Whetstone Polaroid
Whetstone. After a worryingly long gap with no CD finds, I spotted... another anonymous Polaroid disc.

09/07/15: Woolworths Worthit!
Woolworths "Worthit!" CD-R found in Nether Street, N12. "Lifetime Guarantee" promises the text, unrealistically.

17/03/15: Mehdi Hassan
First find for a Reyo-branded CD-R. Found this in the road, in the dark, on Mornington Terrace, NW1. The upper part of the text reads "Mehdi Hassan". But what does the lower part say?

20/12/14: "mp3 85" "Best"
The text on this Discvision-branded CD-R (found in the Waitrose/Boots car park, Whetstone) reads "mp3 85" "Best". Is that two titles or one? And does this consist of mp3s of music from 1985 only? If so, that's an impressively specific theme for a mix CD. To the left of this text is a cryptic script in a language I am unfamiliar with.

29/11/14: Kansas Zac Brown Coldplay
Kansas, Zac Brown and Coldplay seem an improbable combination, but here they are together on a Sony CD-R found in the Boots car park in Whetstone. Unlikely to play.

27/11/14: Maxell CD-R, Stanhope Street, Camden
Yet more evening treasure from Stanhope Street. This unlabelled Maxell CD-R was being slowly covered by mud and leaves.
27/11/14: 100 Anthems: Ibiza and Phill Collins, Fitzroy St, W1
In a deep puddle on Fitzroy Street (opposite Saatchi & Saatchi), between the curb and a white van, I spied two abandoned CDs. Upon their retrieval from the murky depths, these were revealed to be a Datasafe-branded CD-R with "Phill Collins" (sic) written on it, plus "100 Anthems: Ibiza". The large "02" in the centre of the latter indicates that this is disc two of a five-disc set (which, the web reveals, was released in 2008 by Apace Music).

26/10/14: Paloma kids Akiu labels
An extraordinary month for abandoned CDs continued and concluded with this Tesco CD-R at the edge of the High Road in Whetstone. The writing on the disc appears to say "Paloma kids Akiu labels", but almost certainly doesn't say that. Any ideas?

19/10/14: Barnet Odeon disc bonanza – 6 of 6: Mavado Mr. Brooks......
Sixth of six CDs on the Great North Road, Hertfordshire, EN5. "Mavado Mr. Brooks......" is written on this Sony CD-R. According to Wikipedia, "Mr. Brooks...A Better Tomorrow is the second studio album by Jamaican artist Mavado. The album was recorded during 2008 and 2009."
19/10/14: Barnet Odeon disc bonanza – 4 of 6: Reggae For Cyprus 2011
Fourth of six CDs on the Great North Road, Hertfordshire, EN5. This Sony CD-R, labelled "Reggae For Cyprus 2011", is my favourite of the six. Note the neat handwriting, the carefully inserted "u" in "Cyprus" and the little picture of the sun. You can imagine the owner's optimisim about the holiday and how it might be further enhanced by this compilation.
